Living here in the Rocky Mountains fall is a time for mixed emotions.
You've worked diligently all summer to grow a garden and beautify
your home with flowers. You know that all it will take is one hard
freeze and it will be gone. Then you will be hauling off all of the spent
plants.
There is some excitement in the air as the hunting seasons open for
large game animals. The flocks of geese fly over, gathering to head
south for the winter. The hummingbirds depart for warmer places.
The trees start turning colors and the beautiful green vines of summer
turn to brilliant oranges and reds.
Yes, I like to have my emotions stirred and I certainly enjoy living
where there really are 4 seasons.
